Do you have any special occasions every year besides Christmas and the summer holidays? Something to look forward to because you know it will be a great experience? For me, such an occasion is the Learning Technologies Conference and Exhibition in London. Late January or early February of each year, this largest learning event is on the agenda.
I know I am a privileged guy—you may even call me spoiled as I visited the event again this year—the ninth time in a row. And I have to say, I’m kind of proud that I initiated and headed the Belgian/Dutch delegation to this event for the eighth time. With help from both VoVnetwerk (the official Belgian L&D member organisation) and Develhub (the official Dutch L&D member organisation), we managed to grow the delegation from 8 to 88 participants in 8 years.
At the exhibition, you can meet many of the most important international learning technology providers. At the conference, intriguing keynote speakers and concurrent session speakers from the UK, USA, Canada, India and Europe share their insights and best practices on different topics. Shortly after the event, or sometimes even during the event, some visitors create vlogs, blogs or write-ups to share their most valuable impressions of the event. In this episode of the learning notes, you’ll find some impressions of this great event. Does this make you curious and enthusiastic? Like to join next year? Maybe join our delegation? You’re welcome, just let me know. The dates are already set: 10 and 11 February 2021.
General remark for all resources: because this is a ‘special edition’, I’ll introduce each resource shortly without any ‘what’s it about?’ or ‘why read it?’ remarks.

Asli Derya did a great job at the conference, being one of the ‘Twitter reporters’ sharing highlights from different conference sessions ‘real time’ via Twitter. Here is her Linkedin post with a great overview, great ‘punch-lines’ and some key takeaways.

A great podcast (nr. 182!!) by the GoodPractice team reviewing LT2020 in 24 minutes. Some highlights from the keynotes on AI are covered very well here.
