aNewSpring is on a mission: to help millions of professionals learn, worldwide. We do this with our learning journey platform and a unique community of learning pioneers. To take the next step towards that mission, we are looking for an experienced, energetic and creative Community & Insights Lead.

Your mission is to grow and prosper a global community of like-minded learning pioneers. You do this by continuously inspiring them through unique content & insights and by bringing the community together during online and offline events.

Are you someone:

  • Who can’t stop talking about how you can grow a niche audience online with the help of distinctive content and nurture that into a vibrant community?
  • Who’s totally into our mission to help people learn and is brimming with practical ideas on how online learning technology can help?
  • Who would love to put that into practice at an organically growing and meaningful company with great international potential and ambitions?

Let’s talk!

About the company that’s all about learning

At aNewSpring we do everything we can to make learning fun and effective. We build inspiring software for professional educators to create beautiful and effective learning journeys. We’re proud facilitators of a vibrant community of learning pioneers. We believe in open, respectful and positive communication that fits within our no-nonsense mentality.

This enables us to continuously improve and to offer our customers an ever better experience. In addition, this has resulted in an eNPS that has remained above 48 in the last 12 months.

In 10 years we’ve grown into a mature learning platform and community of like-minded learning pioneers, with thousands of customers and even more satisfied learners. We are based in Rotterdam, with offices and partners in our key regions (UK, Australia and South Africa). Will you join us?

How will you contribute to our mission?

To convince as many professionals as possible to join our community and work with us, we require a top-notch content marketing engine. A true and experienced community builder and content marketing specialist is a critical part of that engine. That’s where you come in!

It’s your mission to enthuse as many learning pioneers as possible to continuously improve their training. You are the face and brain of this global community and you act as the editor-in-chief of our publications, including our newsletter and community events. You actively maintain and build a network of content contributors and community partners and provide additional value to community members by bringing them together, both online and offline.

Fortunately, you are not on your own in this! You are supported by our Trendcatcher, who helps you to stay up to date on the latest developments in the Learning & Development world. Along with our Learning Innovator, you develop and share new insights that arise from our unique vision on learning and the daily practice of our customers and partners. Together with our Product Marketing Lead, you ensure that the topics you deal with and the content and events you develop also align with solutions that we offer with our platform.

What will you do as Community & Insights Lead?

This is a new role at aNewSpring. This means that you get a lot of room to shape your role, as well as the community strategy and proposition.

In a nutshell: everything that has to do with our learning pioneer community is your responsibility. It’s up to you to make our community, which implicitly already exists, much more explicit as a value proposition. In close collaboration with the Product Marketing Lead, you market the community as a unique source of knowledge and inspiration for learning pioneers at training providers.

You are the editor-in-chief of our biweekly newsletter and, together with internal and external learning experts, you make sure that it is full of valuable content every two weeks. You are therefore also responsible for our content calendar and ensure a solid content planning, including the programming of our own events.

Together with our Campaign Marketer, you ensure optimal promotion of the newsletter, content and events in order to grow the community.

All summed up, you are responsible for:

  • Forming and further developing our community proposition;
  • Growth of the community/our audience (both qualitatively and quantitatively);
  • Editorial strategy (guarding our editorial mission statement and ‘sweet spot’);
  • Editorial content planning and calendar, including the newsletter and community events;
  • Representing and driving the community, both internally and externally;
  • Building and maintaining a network of community partners and contributors;
  • Actively seeking collaborations with relevant external networks/publications/communities.

Who are you?

  • You have proven yourself in a similar role in which you were responsible for developing and executing a content marketing program and/or an editorial publication.
  • You know exactly what to do to build a global online niche audience using rock-solid content and events.
  • You know the power of content formats and storytelling and you are inventive in developing and applying them.
  • You fully agree with our core values: open, no-nonsense, win-win, fun, taking responsibility, continuously improving and ‘own wisdom’.
  • You have a passion for – and a clear view on – how technology can help people learn better.
  • You love and are exceptionally good at telling compelling and engaging stories on any channel.
  • You are used to planning ahead with a solid content calendar and always ensure that deadlines are met.
  • You are a born communicator with excellent social skills.
  • You are a strategic thinker and a doer.
  • You have a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role.
  • You have an academic level of thinking.
  • You speak and write fluently in English (Dutch is a bonus).

What do we have to offer?

  • Autonomy to really make your work yours;
  • Plenty of opportunities to grow within the team/company;
  • Lots of flexibility, for example to work remotely;
  • Do-it-yourself pension provision, with professional advice;
  • 25 vacation days;
  • A fitting salary according to the Baarda salary scale as ‘Medior Professional’ (€ 4.106,- – € 5.865,- gross per month);
  • Laptop and such to set up your home office;
  • And lastly, a super nice workplace in the heart of Rotterdam with the absolute best view, lunches and table tennis.

A new employer in corona-time. How does that work?

No worries. Online training is our core business, remember? We have built our systems and processes entirely on remote working. We have a ‘Preboarding Learning Journey’ about our culture and methods. Plus, an online onboarding programme which we complete together.

Take Hilde, who started with us in October 2020 as our Campaign Marketeer:

“When Covid took off for a second spin, I started working at aNewSpring. So I was onboarded completely from home and got to know the organisation like that.

The onboarding went very well, help was offered on many sides and everyone takes the time to help you grow. I was consciously sought out and everyone shared their enthusiasm about the organisation and worked extremely hard on a beautiful platform.

After the induction period, colleagues are happy to help. For me it feels like a warm bath and I think it speaks for the organisation that you get a lot of appreciation for the work you do. Everyone is deemed important and you really feel that.”
