How will you contribute to our mission?

Your mission is to work with your team to ensure that everything that is added or changed to the UI and UX of aNewSpring is top-notch. The look and feel, usability and accessibility should all contribute to an inspiring and pleasant online environment to work and learn in.

By translating the objectives and projects on the roadmap into detailed designs, you and your team work together with the developers to constantly bring the aNewSpring platform and app to the next level.

What will you do as Design Lead?

As a Design Lead, you will be responsible for coaching, training, expanding and improving the design team. The three designers in the team are eager to get to work with an experienced colleague with new insights.

You and your team ensure that the roadmap is translated into validated, executable, high quality designs that our developers are eager to sink their teeth into. You not only like to talk about design but you also can’t stay away from it yourself. Within this role, we are looking for a designer who, in addition to being the team lead, is also a designer at heart and can’t help but contribute in that area.

You will be an important part of the development process. You are in close contact with the product manager, developers, QA and designers and other colleagues but of course the end user itself is central in everything you do. You know how to reach them and involve them in the design and validation process.

You also keep an eye on the market and the design world, and take what you learn there to your team and into your own designs. With all this, you build a vision of what the platform should look like, and what kind of team and people you think you need to get this done in the best possible way.

As a result of your and your team’s work, the aNewSpring platform is and will always be a joy to work and to learn in.

Who are you?

You’re an experienced designer who’s allergic to a bad interface. Aside from that, you are a leader and coach who gets energy from educating and inspiring other designers. You love tackling cool projects, dissecting complex interfaces and solving design puzzles. You prefer to do this with other creatives, and know how to get good ideas and insights from everyone through user testing and creative sessions.

You are/have:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant design experience;
  • A relevant UI/UX design related education;
  • A portfolio that you can show us;
  • Experience in leading and coaching a (design) team;
  • Experience with agile and SCRUM;
  • Excellent English communication skills;
  • Structured and able to manage multiple projects at the same time;
  • Not averse to having your administration in order;
  • Experience with Sketch and Invision.

We have built our systems and processes entirely on remote working. We have a ‘Preboarding Learning Journey’ about our culture and methods. Plus an online onboarding programme which we complete together.
