Simply create and maintain content

Authors and course developers can easily create questions and multimedia content online. This content can also be (re)used in different courses or learning activities.
Within aNewSpring, items (questions) and parts of the content (not questions) are combined to course components that each have their own characteristics and settings:
Lesson: content and questions are alternated.
Documentation: make documentation available immediately at or after completion of the lesson
Assignment: contains questions only
Assessment: contains questions, provides a score and possibly an advice
Skill assignment: submitting documents and proof of competence.
Random assessment: automatically generated exam based on a test matrix.
Survey: ask for an opinion.
Scan: answers to questions are neither right nor wrong but lead to a characterization.

Various question types
aNewSpring supports various question types:
- 'Multiple choice'
- 'Multiple response'
- 'Fill in the blanks'
- 'Hotspot' (a certain area of an image is the correct answer)
- Open questions where the teacher can provide feedback to the answers and give an assessment from a distance.
- Multimedia question type API for gaming, simulation and extraordinary question types.

Teacher activates course components
A teacher can release (activate) learning components. Thus, elearning will fit in with what is happening in the classroom.
Integration of multimedia (web) content
Use of multimedia is simple. It is possible to add images , sound and other multimedia elements to both questions and content pages. Implementation of web content such as YouTube, Slideshare and Issuu, also is very simple.

Content pages based on templates
Every author can simply make content pages using various content templates:
- video with timed supporting texts and images;
- audio with timed supporting texts and images;
- video template;
- pdf viewer template;
- image-text template;
- image with zoom function
- and others
Evaluation and feedback
It is easy to add evaluations to courses. Making an evaluation form available can be timed and provided with an automatic notification.

Submit assignments or portfolio items
The skill assignment is a mailbox for submitting assignments or document to have them evaluated.
Statistics for the purpose of quality improvement
aNewSpring contains extensive statistics for continuous improvement of the content.

Course structures
It is possible to make extensive course structures. Course components are available sequentially and/or iteratively, possibly based on scores at earlier components, adapted to the learning goals of a course.
Workflow for content review and feedback
Reviewers can simply respond in the course. The author receives all feedback. He can immediately see where somebody has placed a comment and can choose to simply adjust the content immediately.
